At Africa Alive, we offer immersive learning experiences that bring classroom theory to life.

Students of all levels, from biology and environmental science to animal management, can explore science in a practical, hands-on environment that makes learning engaging and memorable.

Our curriculum-based sessions cover key topics such as conservation biology, ecology, animal behaviour, welfare, and environmental policy.

Work Experience

Gain hands-on experience with our dedicated Animal Management team and play a role in supporting wildlife conservation.

Placements are flexible, with block release options (Monday–Friday, minimum 2 weeks) or one-day placements on weekends (minimum 10 weeks).

Open to students 18+ studying animal-related courses (A Levels, Level 3 Diploma, or higher), these placements offer practical experience and direct insight into wildlife conservation.

The Zoological Society of East Anglia runs an active research programme, supporting studies in animal behaviour, enclosure design and enrichment, physiology and nutrition, veterinary science, and environmental impact.

Preparing for Animal Research

Before starting a project, researchers should ensure their methodology meets ethical and scientific standards and review the BIAZA research guidelines.
